Sunset Excursion on Mount Etna at 3000 Meters
The route
Departure from Piano Provenzana around 6:00 PM, with an off-road vehicle ride up to an altitude of 2,800 meters. From there, a short and pleasant trek begins among the lava flows of the Northeast Crater.
The trail leads to Punta Lucia , an ideal vantage point for watching the sunset over Mount Etna , with views of Sicily, the Aeolian Islands , and the constantly active craters beyond.
After the stop, the return journey is on foot for just over a kilometer to the vehicle departure point, before returning to Piano Provenzana.
Visibility may vary depending on weather conditions .
IMPORTANT WARNINGS
- Simple route, but on unstable volcanic soil: caution is required
- This activity is not recommended for those who do very little physical activity.
- The excursion may be subject to changes or interrupted for safety reasons.
- Duration varies depending on the pace of the group
