The hike begins directly from the center of Ottaviano, where you begin climbing the slopes of Vesuvius along paths immersed in lush vegetation. The first stretch passes through the Valle della Delizia, a picturesque area characterized by woods and panoramic views.
Continuing, the route leads near the Rifugio Legalità, a reference point along the itinerary, and then continues towards the Cognoli di Ottaviano, one of the most panoramic and wild areas on the eastern side of the volcano.
From here, you enter the spectacular Valle dell’Inferno (Hell Valley) , a highly volcanic environment marked by lava flows and rugged terrain, which gradually leads you to higher altitudes.
The trail continues to climb until it reaches the crater area of Vesuvius, where a stop is planned to observe the interior of the crater and admire the surrounding panorama.
The return journey follows the same route as the outward journey, with scheduled stops to recharge your batteries and once again enjoy the scenery you’ve traversed.
